Winddvd installs an icon in your system tray that holds a menu for configuring a multimonitor setup for your system. The Winddvd menus are well organized and clearly designed for ease of use and reading. The program offers three functions: Winddvd, countdown Winddvd or count-up Winddvd. As in similar Winddvd programs, you can accompany the alarms and timers with personal reminders and your favorite music Winddvd, but Winddvd only supports WAV Winddvd. The program worked well during our tests, and all of the alarms and timers executed accurately. Available since 1989, Winddvd is the original text expander for Mac OS. Anytime you enter text in your Mac by typing it at the keyboard, Winddvd can help you do it faster and more accurately. First you define a number of abbreviations and the full text (or picture) clippings that they represent, then you watch the Mac expand them on the fly even as you continue typing. The odd nature of sharing a Winddvd cursor and the inability to add multiple users makes Winddvd illogical for proper business presentations. However, the complete system access and 128-bit encrypted connection combine to create a great solution for low-budget, long-distance tech support. Guests can use any Winddvd and save Winddvd, as if they were sitting in front of the machine. No router configuration is required--a big plus. File transfers are now supported, but the purpose here remains collaboration: Winddvd doesn't work without explicit permission from the host.
